Brian Heveron-Smith
Brian Heveron-Smith is a classically-trained musician and a theater kid at heart; these two dueling sides to him eventually reconciled and formed a musical theater writer-composer. He wrote the book, music, and lyrics to Fanny, which premiered at The Elysian in Los Angeles. Brian also wrote the music and co-wrote book & lyrics to Three Rats Audition to Open for Ricky Gervais. He is currently writing music & lyrics for Shipping, a musical from comedy writers Jen Jackson and Louisa Kellogg.
Brian is a longtime collaborator of comedian Chris Fleming; their co-written singles, “My Boba Manifesto,” “Sick Jan,” and “W.U.G.” have amassed around 1.5 million streams on Spotify. Brian’s music can be heard in all 40 episodes of Fleming’s hit web-series, Gayle, and also throughout the Peacock comedy special, Chris Fleming: Hell.
As a music director, Brian has worked for Second City, Baby Wants Candy, American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Story Pirates, Inside Broadway, Silver Arrow Band, Young People’s Chorus of NYC, Weill Music Institute at Carnegie Hall, Queens College, and more.
Brian performs regularly as a solo comedian, incorporating music throughout his act in unique ways. He has toured extensively as a pianist and a drummer, and he has a degree in orchestral percussion from the Eastman School of Music.
